Dahara is a UK based skincare company with a goal to combine the fast-paced innovation of the skincare world with the timeless home remedies that we grew up with.

From Founder

Hi, my name is Azeemat. I am currently a student in London, Uk and Director of Dahara Limited. My journey to starting Dahara came as a result of a trip back home to Nigeria in the summer of 2021 for some work experience. I have always had an entrepreneurial mind and a love for business, so during that trip my mind was constantly buzzing over the wealth of opportunities that Nigeria had to offer. Growing up with eczema, my skincare journey has been a roller coaster and so it has always been difficult to find effective products that don’t make my skin feel likes its being lit on fire. One evening, my aunt Balkis told me about how she enjoys making skincare products and was always getting great feedback from friends and family and so it occurred to me that we could combine my flare for business with her manufacturing skills and so Dahara was born. Once I got back to the UK, I started working on it immediately and we have never looked back.

Hello, my name is Balkis. Cosmetics has been my passion for a very long time. I first started in a group research project on beauty products with friends and colleagues in college. From there, I started making my own scrubs, soaps, body oils and creams. I was exposed to organic cosmetic formulation during my course with Formula Botanica. I supervise work done by professional formulators to ensure that Dahara’s products are of the highest quality.

Giving Back to Our Communities:

When thinking about how we wanted to operate, it was important that we were able to give back to the people that had gotten us to where we are. For this reason, we decided to source as many resources locally as possible without compromising on our high-quality standards. In this way, we can reinvest back into the Nigerian economy and improve the lives of people there. Furthermore, the company aims to partner with local charities to make sure that as the company grows, it brings the rest of society with it.

Looking After the Earth:

As a company starting up amid a global warming crisis, we have a duty to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. In order to achieve this, we are limiting the amount of plastic to the absolute minimum and instead using paper or cardboard alternatives. We are also making sure all our materials are recyclable or biodegradable and sourcing locally to reduce travel times and the environmental impact. As we grow, we will constantly look at new ways to improve and to eventually reach our goal of becoming completely carbon neutral.
